Ana Sofia Pereira is a Post-Doctoral fellow in the project “FEMglocal – Glocal feminist movements: interactions and contradictions” (PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021). In 2020 she completed a European PhD in Communication Sciences (majoring in Cinema, Screenwriting) at the New University of Lisbon, with a stay at the University of Reading, on the lack of women screenwriters and directors in Europe and specifically in Portugal. In that same year, she was one of the winners of the Program to Support the Writing and Development of Audiovisual and Multimedia Content promoted by ICA with the miniseries “Virgínia: Searching for the Lost Film”. She is a higher education professor, an integrated researcher at CICANT, a screenwriter and a script-doctor. Her main research interests lie in gender studies, cinema, digital communication and inclusion.

Andreia Pinto de Sousa holds a PhD in Information and Communication in Digital Platforms (2017) from the University of Aveiro and the University of Porto. APS is a Professor at the Faculty of Communication, Architecture, Arts and Information Technologies at the Lusófona University and a Guest Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Porto. In addition, she coordinates and teaches curricular units in Interface Design, Interaction Design, New Media, Multimedia Communication Design, and User Experience Design. She is part of the HEI-Lab research centre and collaborates with DigiMedia, where she develops research relating to Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Health, and New Media. In the last five years, APS was part of the supervision team of some master's dissertations and one PhD. In this project, she will work on the identity, communication and design of the interactive and collaborative platform.

Daniela Rocha Drummond is a journalist and political scientist, currently a post doc researcher at the Institute of Social and Political Studies of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (IESP/UERJ), a top Brazilian graduate research institute, she is also a researcher at Laboratory on Media and the Public Sphere (LEMEP), and integrate the project Manchetômetro, in Brazil. She integrates the research project "FEMglocal - Glocal feminist movements: interactions and contradictions” (PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021) in Portugal. She holds a PhD in Political Science (specialisation in Political Communication) from the Federal University of Paraná, with a sandwich period at Lusófona University of Porto, Portugal.

Inês Rua is a PhD fellow in the FEMglocal research project. She holds a degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, a master's degree in Legal and Forensic Sciences from the same institution, a master’s degree in Journalism and Communication from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra (FLUC), and a postgraduate degree in Human Rights. In the legal area, she was a trainee lawyer and volunteered at the APAV Victim Support Office. In terms of journalistic activity, she was a writer and editor at the university newspaper A Cabra of the Associação Académica de Coimbra and is coordinator of the magazine Zona Livre at Clube Safo. She is currently a PhD candidate in Communication Sciences at FLUC, where she is dedicated to Feminist Media Studies. Within this field of study, alongside her involvement in projects as a collaborator, and her scientific publications in journals, she has been focusing her research on black feminist movements in Portugal and their presence on social networks. Associate professor in Communication Sciences at ISCSP – University of Lisbon. Co-founding member and integrated researcher of CIEG, in matters related to gender and communication. PhD in Communication Sciences, specialised in Sociology of Communication with a thesis about media representations and impacts on young women. Master in Sociology and graduated in Social Communication in ISCSP, University of Lisbon. She was co-coordinator of the Gender and Sexuality section of the Portuguese Sociological Association until 2018. She is reviewer for scientific journals in communication, youth and gender studies, and apart from scientific papers, is the author of several books on communication, sociology and image (“A Imagem Corporal” [Body Image] (2004), “Sociologia da Comunicação” [Sociology of Communication] (2011), “Corpo e Imagem na Sociedade de Consumo”[Body and Image in consumption societies] (2014) e Estudos de Imagem [Visual Studies] (2021). She has developed research projects concerning gendered media representations of vulnerable groups and gender violence.

Maria José Brites is an Associate Professor at Lusófona University and a member of the Board of the Centre for Research in Applied Communication, Culture, and New Technologies (CICANT). She is the coordinator of the project Jovens, Notícias e Cidadania Digital/Youth, News and Digital Citizenship - YouNDigital (PTDC/COM-OUT/0243/2021). She coordinated the project “Educational centres with digital and civic competences – DiCi-Educa” (Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian) and the European project SMaRT-EU (LC-01563446). She was the Portuguese coordinator of the European project Media In Action – MIA (LC-00644630) and of the RadioActive project (531245-LLP-1-2012-1-UK-KA3-KA3). She completed her PhD in Communication Sciences (2013) at NOVA University Lisbon and a post-doc (2014-2017) at the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS/UMinho), both with grants from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Sofia P. Caldeira, PhD, is a researcher at CICANT, Lusófona University, Portugal. From 2022, she holds a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship to develop research on Exploring Ephemeral Feminisms on Portuguese Instagram. Her main areas of research focus on social media, self-representation practices, politics of gender representation, everyday aesthetics, and feminist media studies. She currently serves as chair of ECREA’s Digital Culture and Communication section.

Sónia Lamy holds a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences from Nova University Lisbon. She is an Assistant Professor at Lusófona University and a researcher in CICANT, where she is the Assistant Scientific Coordinator of the Observatory for the Media in Lusophony. Sónia was the Principal Investigator in the European project Erasmus + “Fake the system: EU tools against disinformation” (2020-3-IT03-KA205-019960). She was also co-PI of the research project “IM Lab (Intersectionality Media Lab) - The Joacine Katar Moreira Case Study” (COFAC/CICANT/PhDResearcher/2020). Currently she integrates the research team working on the FCT Project "FEMglocal - Glocal feminist movements: interactions and contradictions" (PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021). Sónia Lamy was also a journalist for about ten years. She is dedicated to the research of journalism studies, news sources, NGOs, and more recently, disinformation.

Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra and Researcher at ICNova, holds a PhD in Communication Sciences from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa in Lisbon. She is also current vice-president of the Portuguese Association of Studies on Women (APEM), as well as chief editor of ex aequo Journal. Her research areas focus on gender and communication issues, including feminist media studies, sociology of communication, political communication, and journalism studies. Stefania holds a PhD in Political and Social Science from the European University Institute.
